Fan of Kaiju mayhem, this game is for you! Today, Nexon and Neople Studio 42 has released Godzilla Defense Force on iOS and Android worldwide, a base management game featuring the beloved Japanese monsters. The game is free-to-play. You can watch the launch trailer below:
In this game, players will be able to battle with the Kaiju they will collect. The monsters come from more than 29 movies in the Japanese production company TOHO’s classic Godzilla series.
The game is design like a history trip through the Toho’s Godzilla franchise, starting with the original 1954 film and on to the present day. Using powerful monsters, such as MechaGodzilla, players will battle to save major cities like London or Tokyo from other monsters of the lore.
“Godzilla Defense Force weaves TOHO’s iconic Godzilla series with a fantastic blend of card and defence building mechanics to create a unique mobile experience that reflects the heart of the franchise,” said Jaeho Hwang, Director of Neople Studio 42.
Building a powerful deck of Monster Cards, players will improve their ability to defend the world. Building your deck will require you to defeat world-threatening KAIJU. And as you defend your city, you will also add to your Codex, unlocking detailed descriptions of monsters alongside images from their respective movies. So there is a collector gameplay side to this game. Another aspect of the game is lunar colonization, that will allow you to reinforce your monsters.
From the trailer, we can say that the game seems to have the good old taste of the old Japanese movies from TOHO, and might satisfy both fans of the franchise and fans of the game genre.
