Ticket holders would reportedly be allowed to make unlimited Special Trades during the event hours (of the day of their ticket) with a 75% dust cost reduction.

The first part of this would only make sense as GO Fest is a place where many people meet up with other players in order to complete Special Trades. Should the dust cost reduction prove to be true, it would simply be amazing (especially if like us you spent a couple millions of dust while the candy cost for an additional charged move for Legendary Pokémon was only 25 for about 1 hour on June 4, 2019). Nonetheless, this part of leak seems to be legitimate.

Event spawns would include: Turtwig, Chimchar, Piplup, Swinub line, Hippopotas line, Gastly line, Unown, Chansey, Eevee, Pikachu, Horsea, Spinda, and Pachirisu.

Most of these are to be expected no matter what (Gen 4 Starters, Unown, Chansey, Eevee, Pikachu…). However, some of these reported event spawns are quite interesting, especially Spinda as it would have never been available in the wild. That being said, it wouldn’t be surprising if it were true as Niantic does have to bring a sense of exclusivity to the on-site participants, and Spinda would be a great way of doing it considering how scarce the quests for its encounter can be. That being said, we are left to wonder which form would be available, unless Niantic simply decides to make all previous form rain?

Furthermore, GO Fest needs at least one regional exclusive, and Pachirisu has been incredibly exclusive so far, so it also seems like a legitimate possibility. The inclusion of the Swinub and Gastly line would add a decent amount of Shiny options, and Hippopotas is rare and recent enough to have players excited over. As for Horsea, let’s talk about it.

Shiny Horsea would be boosted during the event AND worldwide until the end of GO Fest on Sunday.

Of course, GO Fest needs to bring new Shiny (or Shinies), and Horsea sure seems like a good option. Its evolutions are interesting PvP options and it’s a cute enough Pokémon to be promoted during an event, right?

Regular Sprites:

Shiny Sprites:

Shiny Ralts would be boosted during the event and available worldwide at regular rates.

Again, GO Fest has to provide some exclusivities to participants on site, so having a new Shiny mostly available at GO Fest, yet being available to the world at regular rate is a terrific idea. Although we would have originally suspected Ralts to be a Community Day option at some point, it remains a good option considering its line’s potential in PvP, especially if given access to Charm (more on that below).

Shiny Sprites:

Research Tasks would revolve around Dancing Pokémon.

Considering that it has been rumoured for a while now that Jirachi would be the Special Research from this year’s Pokémon GO Fest (more on that below) and that the Mythical Pokémon is a Dancing Pokémon itself, it would only make sense for Research Tasks to revolve around Dancing Pokémon which include the followings:

  • Kirlia (fits the above mentioned rumour/leak)
  • Altaria
  • Spinda (fits the above mentioned rumour/leak)
  • Clefairy
  • Bellossom
  • Ludicolo
  • Roserade
  • Hitmontop

According to experienced dataminers, hints in the code would align with this leak, which gives it even more credibility.

Special Research would unlock the Mythical Jirachi.

This is to be expected, especially that not too long ago, traces of Jirachi and Tasks related to the Pokémon had been found in the code of the game.

Said hints in the code have been reported about a week ago, but the community had been speculating about it for a long time before that.

Charm would be added as a Fast move.

Charm would reportedly make no damage, but rather be intended for PvP purposes as it would have a chance to reduce the opponent’s attack.

Parting Words

What do you think of all this? To us, it certainly makes sense, all of it actually. The fact remains that it is a leak with no original source, so the credibility of it somewhat shady. However, at the end of the day, all of it aligns with what had previously been reported, i.e. Jirachi related Research and moves in the code.

Let us know what you think below, and again, keep in mind that this leak has no original source, neither has it been confirmed by Niantic, which means that it could be completely or partially wrong.
