Apple Arcade – Live for iOS 13 Beta users and list of games available at launch

Perhaps for the variety of bugs that they experience and have to report to Apple, iOS 13 Beta users have been given the chance to experience Apple Arcade as of today, while the rest of the world will get their hands on the anticipated platform on Thursday, September 19. Following our first impressions is a list of games that you can expect to be available at launch.

First Impressions

From the start, the platform appears to be very friendly and adopts (at no one’s surprise) the same layout as the rest of the App Store. In other words, Apple has completely dropped the bullet point format and adopted a more intuitive and user/community oriented layout.

Of course, you will always find your usual categories such as Showcase, New Arrivals (aren’t all these games new?), etc., but for those simply looking for a list of all the games, scrolling down at the bottom will give you what you need.

Games are surprisingly very slow to download. Yes, we did attempt to download 15 at the same time, but after removing some of them, games were still downloading at the same speed (despite being on a very fast network, around 50 mb/s).

The platform already has hints, tips, and guides available for the users, all through this intuitive platform.

Of course, all games available in Apple Arcade are free of loot boxes, micro-transactions, etc. completely changing the new big trend in mobile gaming focusing on micro-transactions. We are very much looking forward to how the general public will adhere to this model.
